Just a few weeks to go till the next NABC Home Show, the last one of 2024, and the amateur boxes are all working hard as they prepare for the big night.
They’ll be back at Farndon Memorial Hall on Friday 18 October where the doors will be open at 6.30pm and the first bout will be starting at 7pm.
“The boxers hoping to take part are all at Suggy’s Gym regularly, getting ready for the show, and we’re busy finalising the card details that will be published here, on our Suggys Gym page and on our social media pages nearer to the night,” said NABC Head Coach Dean Sugden.
“As usual, this is a ticket only event and tickets are already on sale, priced £20 for adults and £15 for under 15s. They always sell fast so if you want to be there to add your support make sure you contact the boxers or head over to 49 Castlegate as soon as possible.
“A big thank you to the team behind the event and to all of the sponsors supporting our boxers for these events, without whom these shows wouldn’t be possible. We’re all looking forward to what is certain to be a great event in October…
“And to our first Home Show of 2025 when we’ll be back at Farndon Memorial Hall on Friday 28 March!”

An event with a difference for some of the members of Newark Amateur Boxing Club next month, when they head over to Lincoln to take part in Flexus Dance Collective‘s Going The Distance – All About The Fight on Thursday 8 February!
“I was first contacted about this back in November last year,” said Suggy’s Gym head coach Dean Sugden. “Flexus Dance Collective’s managing director Jade Barton had been in touch with England Boxing, who recommended our club as a strong fit for All About The Fight and when Jade put forward the proposal I was delighted to accept the invitation to take part.
“A dance organisation based in Wolverhampton, Flexus Dance Collective has been working in partnership with England Boxing since 2020, developing this multi-strand project that encompasses and embraces the culture of boxing, grime music and dance…
“And to date has engaged with over 2,000 participants and over 9,000 audience members, as well as also being programmed for Sports Side Presentation for the Commonwealth Boxing Games and Finals at the NEC in Birmingham.”
The Newark boxers will be heading over to The Terry O’Toole Theatre in Lincoln on Thursday 8 February, where they will be providing glove and pad demonstrations against live Grime Music performances, supported by Suggy’s Gym coach and pro boxer Jade Grierson.
“I’m really looking forward to being part of Going The Distance – All About The Fight,” said Jade. “I can honestly say it brings together two of the things I enjoy doing most, boxing and dancing, and when coaching boxing I’ve always said it’s a lot like dancing, moving from one punch to another, and the sequence anddfluidity of both are very similar.
“To be part of something so empowering and help dancers incorporate the skill, spirit and culture of boxing to showcase this on stage is great but to be opening the show and involving some of our very own home grown amateur boxers who will be showcasing what we do best is going to be particularly exciting and a great experience for us all!”
Tickets for the show, which starts at 7pm at Lincoln’s Terry O’Toole Theatre, are £12 each and can be booked online here – you’ll find more about Flexus Dance Collective on its Facebook page…
And make sure you watch this space after the event to see photos of the Newark Amateur Boxing Club members in action on the night!
